I am sat in my living room with the windows wide open, the sun beaming through the finger-smeared glass, curtains fluttering, birdsong floating in on the gentle breeze. There’s a touch of chill to the air still but it soothes my skin from the harshness of the central heating. The subtle scent of spring dances around me; a tantalising taste of what is to come over the months ahead. Joy awaits. My mind wanders to thoughts of warmer days and my lips lift into a soft smile.
I often turn to my tarot cards in times of hardship; when life feels challenging, an uphill battle or something just isn’t ‘right’.
I rarely reach for my deck in moments of joy, bliss, peace, tranquility even, but sat here now, I feel called to see what they have to say…
I close my eyes, cradle my cards tightly against my chest and absorb this wondrous moment of simplicity.
Then I ask;
What chapter am I closing?
What awaits me in spring?
My cards are keen to answer, as if they have been patiently waiting for me to come to them from a place of joy rather than pain.
I am closing The Moon; a period of darkness, feeling lost, alone and somewhat helpless in my journey, fumbling my way through life, grabbing on to whatever I can to steady myself, hoping that the sun will soon rise so that I can finally see where I’m heading on this path.
Sure enough, I am then greeted by the lion, tenderly holding a spring bloom between his powerful jaws, as Strength awaits me. The card of the Sun. Light is returning, externally and internally. With it, this light brings renewed courage and a reminder that I am infinitely wise, strong and capable. I am no longer lost and the path is clear and bright.
Tarot doesn’t always have to be for troubled times. It can also be used in the blissful pauses, where joy soaks into our cells and makes us tingle from the inside out. If anything, this is truly the most wonderful of times to use our cards.
So when the sun next dapples against your wall, you notice a cute bird perched in your garden or you taste the first strawberry of the season… first and most importantly, breathe deep and take it all in. And then channel that beautiful, sparkly energy into your cards and see how they respond.
You could pull one card to see what your message is in that moment, ask some simple questions like I did or, if you have the time, sit in the bliss for as long as you can with a bigger spread.
Either way, your cards will thank you for it ✨

Thank you to
I am passing the chain along to you, to add to whenever you are ready. I can’t wait to read what’s on your hearts.
Welcome in after winter. Lovely how seasonally you try to live
Kerry your writing is so beautiful and I could see you sitting in the winter/spring light, it was a kind of light that enveloped me today too. I also loved your deep dive into the cards and feel resonance in the moving into strength and light. Thank you so much for sharing this magic and your medicine xx
